FPV UK Ltd – App Terms & Conditions

These terms set out the agreement between FPV UK Ltd and you, the End User, regarding your use of our app(s), website(s), online tools and any associated services (together, the Service).

Please read them carefully before using the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About FPV UK Ltd and how these terms apply

1.1 Who we are
“FPV UK Ltd”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to FPV UK Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales under company number 10257855, with its registered office at:

56 Windmill Rise, York, YO26 4TX.

These terms also apply to our employees, officers, contractors, partners and affiliates, where context requires.

1.2 Who you are
“You”, “your” and “yours” refer to the individual End User who accesses or interacts with the Service.

1.3 What these terms cover
These terms apply when:

  • you use our software via a browser or an official mobile app; or
  • you access any Service that links to or incorporates these terms.

These terms do not apply to separate enterprise, commercial or developer agreements, except where you access those systems as an End User through a Service governed by these terms.

1.4 Updates to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. A notice will be shown within the relevant app or Service when updates occur. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised terms.


2. Acceptance and withdrawal of consent

2.1 Accepting these terms
By continuing to use the Service, you confirm that you accept these terms.

2.2 If you do not agree
If you do not accept these terms, you must stop using the Service immediately.

2.3 Withdrawing consent
You may withdraw your consent at any time by ceasing use of the Service and, if applicable, requesting account deletion.

Withdrawal:

  • only applies to future use of the Service; and
  • does not invalidate any processing or actions taken prior to withdrawal.

3. Responsibilities of drone operators

3.1 You remain responsible at all times
If you use the Service for flight planning or operational support, you remain solely responsible for:

  • complying with applicable drone laws and airspace requirements;
  • ensuring your flight is safe and lawful;
  • maintaining situational awareness and fulfilling all “see-and-avoid” duties;
  • any decisions you make based on Service information.

3.2 No transfer of liability
Nothing in the Service shifts liability away from the pilot in command.


4. Rules for using the Service

4.1 Nature of the Service
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

4.2 Support
Support for the Service is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis, typically in English.

4.3 Permitted use
You may use the Service:

  • for your own personal or business use;
  • only for its intended operational purpose;
  • only in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and good practice.

4.4 Prohibited use
You must not:

  • use the Service to commit or support unlawful, defamatory, abusive, fraudulent or immoral activity;
  • use it in any way that endangers others or infringes their rights;
  • reverse engineer, tamper with or circumvent any access controls;
  • misuse the Service to disrupt FPV UK Ltd systems or third-party infrastructure.

4.5 Access only through provided interfaces
You may access the Service only through the interfaces and methods provided.

4.6 No scraping or bulk extraction
Data extraction, scraping, bulk downloading, copying or republishing Service data is prohibited, unless we explicitly authorise it.

4.7 Not a sole source of safety information
The Service is intended to support, not replace:

  • your own risk assessments;
  • your legal obligations as a drone operator;
  • your operational planning and checks.

4.8 Automated flight systems
You must not use the Service to support fully automated or autonomous drone flights without human oversight.

4.9 No guarantee of legality or safety
Information displayed by the Service, including warnings, map overlays or advisories, does not guarantee that flying is lawful or safe.

4.10 Data quality and errors
We work to reduce errors and omissions but cannot guarantee complete accuracy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that Service data may at times be incomplete, delayed or incorrect.


5. FPV UK / TheDroneMap.com login

5.1 Login overview
Where a login system is available, such as the members.fpvuk.org / TheDroneMap.com login, it provides your authentication method for compatible FPV UK tools.

5.2 Creating and maintaining your login
You must:

  • provide accurate information;
  • keep your details updated via any account management feature.

5.3 Data controller
FPV UK Ltd is the Data Controller for personal data associated with FPV UK / TheDroneMap.com login accounts.

5.4 Password security
You must:

  • keep your password confidential;
  • use a strong password, with a minimum of 8 characters, including at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number and one special character;
  • avoid reusing passwords from other services;
  • use a password manager and multi-factor authentication where available.

5.5 Account sharing is not permitted
You must not share your login credentials. You are responsible for all actions taken using your account.


6. Logging in to FPV UK Services

6.1 When login is required
Certain features or future functionality may require you to log in using the FPV UK / TheDroneMap.com login. You will be informed when this is necessary.

6.2 Access permissions
When logging in, the Service may request permission to access certain details from your account. You will be shown what is being accessed and can make an informed choice.

6.3 Using login to store or retrieve data
If logged in, information you submit may be stored against your FPV UK / TheDroneMap.com login to support history, retrieval or multi-platform use.


7. Third-party integrations and data sharing via login

7.1 Third-party systems may in future allow authentication via the FPV UK / TheDroneMap.com login.

7.2 Any third party requesting data must do so securely and must specify what information is requested.

7.3 We will always give you the option to consent or decline before sharing account information.

7.4 If you consent, the third party may store or copy data shared with them. We are not responsible for their handling of such data.

7.5 You may withdraw future-sharing permission at any time, but this does not retroactively delete data already stored by the third party. For removal, you must contact them directly.


8. Interactions with external organisations

8.1 The Service may interact with third parties on your behalf, such as:

  • air navigation service providers;
  • authorities and regulators;
  • airports or aerodrome operators;
  • landowners;
  • organisations responsible for controlled or sensitive airspace.

8.2 When you use features clearly intended to contact such organisations, such as reporting an accident or requesting permission to fly, you authorise us to transmit relevant information on your behalf.

8.3 Where a new third party requires information about you, we will normally request your explicit consent before sharing.


9. Information you upload or submit

9.1 You confirm that any data you submit:

  • is owned by you; or
  • you have permission from the rights holder to upload it.

9.2 If uploaded content infringes a third party’s rights:

  • you must notify us immediately; and
  • you agree to indemnify us for any resulting loss, damage or costs.

This obligation survives termination of your account.

9.3 All uploaded personal information is processed according to our Privacy Policy.


10. Flight information

10.1 What is flight information?
This may include:

  • planned or actual flight paths;
  • flight dates, times and durations;
  • details about aircraft type and capability;
  • flight purpose or operational description;
  • identifiers such as ADS-B or remote ID codes;
  • any public-facing contact details you choose to display;
  • internal identifiers we generate for your flight(s).

10.2 Sharing for safety and awareness
We may share flight information publicly or with third parties to support safety, including situational awareness for other airspace users.

10.3 Protection of personal data
We will not disclose your personal details, such as your name or email address, unless:

  • you explicitly ask us to; or
  • we are required to do so by law.

We may provide indirect contact mechanisms, such as messaging via our Service, to protect your details.

10.4 Use of flight information
For system-wide functioning, flight information may be treated as FPV UK Ltd data. We may display, use, analyse, license or integrate it within our Services.

10.5 Sharing with authorities
We may share flight information with regulators, ANSPs or authorised bodies for safety purposes. Personal data will be limited to the minimum required.


11. User Content from others

11.1 Some Services display information provided by other End Users, referred to as User Content.

11.2 We do not endorse or guarantee User Content and are not responsible for its accuracy, legality or completeness.

11.3 If you believe User Content infringes your rights, email [email protected] with details.


12. Mapping data and visual layers

12.1 The Service may use mapping data, map tiles, basemaps, satellite imagery, aerial imagery and mapping technologies provided by third parties. These may include OpenStreetMap, Protomaps, Esri / ArcGIS World Imagery and a * Leaflet-based* mapping interface.

12.2 Use of OpenStreetMap data is subject to the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Protomaps data, map tiles, basemaps or related mapping services may be subject to Protomaps’ own licences, terms or attribution requirements. Esri / ArcGIS World Imagery and related satellite or aerial imagery layers may be subject to Esri’s own terms, attribution requirements and third-party data-source credits.

12.3 Satellite and aerial imagery may be provided by Esri / ArcGIS World Imagery or by other imagery providers or contributors used by those services. Such imagery is provided for general visual reference only and may not be current, complete, accurate or suitable for operational decision-making without additional checks.

12.4 Map tile, basemap, imagery or mapping infrastructure providers may:

  • receive your IP address solely to deliver map tiles, basemaps, satellite imagery, aerial imagery or related mapping functionality;
  • receive limited technical information needed to provide the mapping service;
  • perform routine logging for operational, security, diagnostic or performance purposes.

We do not intentionally provide personal details, such as name or email address, to them.

12.5 Additional map layers, imagery layers or providers may be introduced. Applicable licensing, attribution or terms will be made available where required.


13. Flight permission requests

13.1 Some features allow you to request permission to fly in certain airspace or over certain land.

13.2 FPV UK Ltd acts only as a technical intermediary. We may forward your request and relevant details to the appropriate organisation.

13.3 We do not:

  • make decisions on requests;
  • guarantee approval;
  • verify that approval equates to safety.

13.4 All decisions are made by the relevant facility operator or authority.


14. Data protection and privacy

14.1 We take the protection of your personal data seriously.

14.2 Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information. It forms part of these terms.

15. Marketing Communications

15.1 Marketing communications
By creating an account, we may use your contact details to send you updates, newsletters and promotional material about FPV UK Ltd services.

15.2 Opting out
You can opt out of these communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at * [email protected]*.


16. Intellectual property

16.1 All intellectual property rights in the Service, including design, software, graphics, text, databases, trade marks and other materials, belong to FPV UK Ltd or our licensors.

16.2 You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service.

16.3 No ownership rights are transferred to you.


17. Service availability

17.1 We work to provide high availability, fast performance and continuous operation.

17.2 The Service may become unavailable due to:

  • maintenance;
  • technical failures;
  • network issues;
  • events outside our control.

17.3 We do not guarantee any particular uptime or performance level.

17.4 We may restrict or block access by IP range, geography or other criteria at any time.

17.5 We are not liable for unavailability or performance issues, however caused.


18. Disclaimers

18.1 The Service does not constitute legal, regulatory or professional advice. Always seek appropriate guidance where required.

18.2 We do not guarantee that the Service:

  • meets your specific requirements;
  • is free from errors, viruses or security issues;
  • is compatible with all devices or systems.

18.3 Although we attempt to keep Service content accurate and up to date, no guarantee is given.

18.4 We are not responsible for opinions or information in User Content.

18.5 You should maintain your own security measures, including anti-virus protection.


19. Limitation of liability

19.1 Nothing in these terms excludes liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

19.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • direct, indirect or consequential loss;
  • business interruption, loss of data, revenue, profits or goodwill;
  • actions of third parties such as data providers or ISPs;
  • failures beyond our reasonable control.

19.3 If liability is found, our total liability in any calendar year is capped at:

  • 100% of any fees you paid to FPV UK Ltd that year; or
  • £1 if you paid no fees.

19.4 These limits survive termination of your use of the Service.


20. Termination

20.1 You may stop using the Service at any time.

20.2 We may suspend or terminate your access at any time and without notice, for any reason.

20.3 Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.


21. Assignment

21.1 FPV UK Ltd may transfer or assign its rights and obligations at any time.

21.2 You may not assign or transfer your rights under these terms.


22. Governing law and jurisdiction

22.1 These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

22.2 Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.


23. General

23.1 These terms form the entire agreement between you and FPV UK Ltd regarding your use of the Service.

23.2 Nothing in these terms creates any partnership, agency or employment relationship.

23.3 If any part is found invalid, the remainder remains fully effective.

23.4 A failure by us to enforce a right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
